I have just started to test squid and havp on a Linux server in “sandwich” mode as shown in some examples here (client-squid-havp-squid).
No have I run in to some problems. I want to add user authentication with openldap. When I activate this I end up with an authentication loop on the client.
Is it any way around this?

More of a Squid problem.. but send your config, otherwise it's impossible to know what you set wrong. :) You need to make sure only "squid1" wants authentication.

Yes, you are right it's a Squid problem or more true a mistake by me.
I had authentication running and then I added the sandwich model (works great!), without changing the authentication :) so I guess all proxies in my system are asking for authentication.
I'll have a look at my config first thing when I get to work tomorrow and fix it.
Thank you!
