Hi,

I'm running an IPCop with Copfilter Addon.
Hege says the clamlib scanner is to prefer to use with havp because of less overhead. I'm running clamd for scanning emails by p3scan. Is it, in this case, better to use clamlib with havp too or, because of even running clamd, to use clamd?

Regards
Severus

Hi,
well and what about running p3scan also with clam library? I have both on same machine without any problem. Search for clamav support in config.

Hi litnoveweedle,

glad to hear this. But my knowledge in linux, perl etc. is not good enough to do the necessary changes by myself. Could you please help me?

Regards
Severus

ok
I know this is offtopic, but hege plese tolerate this...

This is p3scan question, but anyway.

1. check if your p3scan WAS compiled with clamav libraries (which is default I think):

Code:
betelgeuse:/# which p3scan
/usr/local/bin/p3scan

betelgeuse:/# ldd /usr/local/bin/p3scan
        libclamav.so.3 => /usr/local/lib/libclamav.so.3 (0x00002b70c9541000)
        libz.so.1 => /usr/lib/libz.so.1 (0x00002b70c96db000)
        libbz2.so.1.0 => /lib/libbz2.so.1.0 (0x00002b70c97f2000)
        libgmp.so.3 => /usr/lib/libgmp.so.3 (0x00002b70c9901000)
        libclamunrar_iface.so.3 => /usr/local/lib/libclamunrar_iface.so.3 (0x00002b70c9a3f000)
        libclamunrar.so.3 => /usr/local/lib/libclamunrar.so.3 (0x00002b70c9b42000)
        libnsl.so.1 => /lib/libnsl.so.1 (0x00002b70c9c4e000)
        libpcre.so.3 => /usr/lib/libpcre.so.3 (0x00002b70c9d65000)
        libpthread.so.0 => /lib/libpthread.so.0 (0x00002b70c9e8b000)
        libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x00002b70c9fa0000)
        /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 (0x00002b70c9429000)

THIS is searched line:

Code:
libclamav.so.3 => /usr/local/lib/libclamav.so.3

If so, just find your p3scan.conf and comment these directives (clamav support is default = i.e no scaner configuration is needed)

Code:
# scanner
#scannertype

thats all (SURE, don't forget to restart p3scan and test it :-)
