HTTP Anti-Virus Proxy

Hi all,
Everyday when i go to work i need to restart my havp inorder to access internet. I got this error message
08/04/2008 22:31:35 Could not connect to parent proxy (127.0.0.1/localhost:8081)

when restart both squid and havp everything back to normal , where should i troubleshoot the problem? every time i restart squid must i restart havp too? any idea or suggestion would be appreciated so much. My OS centos5, havp87 and squid 2.6 stable6-el5. Configuration squid--havp---squid.

Sorry to hear but I nearly expected this.

One possible issue is a problem of clamav signature updating. Check your freshclam.log for errors on updating clamav. If there are problems (and the last few days there were problems indeed) the reloading of the signatures by havp may fail and havp is shutting down because of this issue.
If it is so, then it will help you to add some more mirrors to your freshclam.conf like


or even others due to your country.

Hi all

Sory for not reply i am out for a few days. I have found the error message in havp access.log
13/14/2008 22:53:11 192.168.100.120 GET 200 http://en-us.www.mozilla.com/style/portal-page.css 481+1256 SCANERROR ClamAV: Input/Output error. Is it the error that cause my havp stop running? any idea what should i do ? should i reinstall clamav? my clamav version is 0.92.1

Scanerror should not kill your HAVP.

If your platform has problems with signature updates, perhaps start using clamd so it won't affect you.

Before i use clamd but clamav could not detect eicar signature text files so i turn back to libclamav. Today i try havp ver 0.88pre2 but i got this error when i start havp....

Maybe you need to: chown havp /var/tmp/havp

i have done chown many times as suggested by the message but still the error exist.Any suggestion would be appreciated so much.
