Hi all

I need help, my temporary files /var/tmp/havp can fill up with havp-xxxx files in just 2 days. My temp file space is1gb. Is there any script to force havp to delete temp file for a period of given time. I used havp 0.88 and clamav0.93.
Any help would be appreciated so much

Thank you

Chaq

HAVP will not leave temp files laying around if it's working.

Do you mean there are thousands of temp files, small, big? Please show ls -l /var/tmp/havp.

Any errors in logs?

Thank you hege for your reply
Yes you are right there are thousand of files laying in directory /var/tmp/havp/ in the form of havp-xxxx. When i did ls -l there was no size. In the havp error.log file i could see this " Invalid Scannerfile: /var/tmp/havp/havp-xxxx Error :No space left on device" then havp stop working. Actually havp been working for a month without problem.When i deleted the file manually i can start havp as usual. Sorry for giving you wrong information on my first post.....my havp version is 0.86 clamav 0.92 and our internet user is around 90.

Thank you,

Chaq

Thanks for the tips and that's really helpful.

BTW, to avoid this problem logrotate should be used to make this access log refresh itself with a pattern. The retention period is up to individual administrator.

Cheers

Hi,

I think your profile is that you don't rotate your havp log in /var/log/havp/access.log and error.log.

To solve it :
create the following file :
Code:
vi /etc/logrotate.d/havp

and put the following line into it:
/var/log/havp/*log {
rotate 6
size=100k
missingok
daily
sharedscripts
compress
postrotate
/etc/init.d/havp restart
endscript
}

And then to try it with the command line:
Code:
logrotate -f /etc/logrotate.d/havp
