HTTP Anti-Virus Proxy

Registration disabled, I'm tired of spambots. E-mail havp@hege.li if you have questions.
HAVP project is pretty much frozen/abandoned at this time anyway.

Hi All,

firstly, I'll say thanks to the developer for such a nice bit of code.

Now, I have a problem with my ISP, where he has the transparent proxy, that you can point to specifically..

ie, browse with direct connection to internet, or define a proxy of proxy.tpg.com.au 3128

Sometimes, if you do not define the proxy, browsing breaks, so you define the proxy and it is ok again. It is as if the ISP transparent proxy doesnt work 100%.

Now into the equation we throw my havp sandwich.

My boss gets annoyed when he cant browse the internet, and sets the proxy to the ISP, dodging my antivirus attempts.

I need my second squid to specifically point to proxy.tpg.com.au 3128 as its parent proxy, but I am so noob I dont know how to do this. I do like caching content locally, as I do a lot of windows updates and such, and the bandwith is saved and job goes quicker...

any help appreciated

regards

Brian

I know that everybody recommends using HAVP like:
squid - havp - squid, however consider using this arrangement:

havp - squid(local) - squid(isp)

I haven't setup a parent proxy, but this seems like a reasonable howto:

Good luck.
