Hi there. Ive got couple questions about HAVP. Im using HAVP (with libclamav) as a parent proxy with Squid transparent on OpenBSD 4.6 box in a 20-25 users office. 1. Browsing goes always fine, but when users try to download a file there is always a 15-20 sec delay before a standart window Open/Save file appears. As i understand this is HAVP checking file for viruses and then sending checked to Squid. Is there a way to make this check faster? Im not using any tmpfs. May be if i use it things will go faster? 2. As i mentioned HAVP serving 20-25 users. So what should i put in SERVERNUMBER and MAXSERVERS for best performance? 3. While starting HAVP always shows this notice: Code: Starting HAVP Version: 0.90 Mandatory locking disabled! KEEPBACK settings not used! Is it crititcal and how can i fix it? Thanks in advance. |

Hello genok! 1. genok wrote: Is there a way to make this check faster? Im not using any tmpfs. May be if i use it things will go faster? On using tmpfs, the speed is only a little bit faster. You can try to make settings on scanned size (MAXSCANSIZE, KEEPBACKBUFFER, and KEEPBACKTIME), to influence the time for scanning. 2. I recommend to use SERVERNUMBER=30 and MAXSERVERS=150 and take a look at your logfiles and search for "SERVERNUMBERS might be to low, increasing to ..." entries, how long this takes time, that havp increases the servernumbers For question 3 you get at evening my answer, because I got to go, sorry! |

sorry for late answer! To your question 3: you have to mount your device for using in havp with mandatory options like Code: /bin/mount /dev/<your_device> TEMPDIR -o mand where TEMPDIR is the temp directory configured in havp.conf and <your_device> is the harddisc, where your temp directory is located.Hope, this helps! regards |
