Post subject:  HAVP with another antivirus

Hello hege...

I installed havp with clamav, and It's working with eicar.com.

But When I receive some e-mails with virus inside, I'm thinking, that the clamav doesn't block the download, because ClamAV ins't a good antivus.. I'm not sure about that....

In another computer with windows with avast, block the Download and show a information about ROOT KIT DETECT....

It's realy a clamav's fault??

It's possibel HAVP work with another antivirus??? like AVG, KASPERSKY, AVAST???

I'm looking for information but I can't find....

Thanks for all

Hi professorgenival,
as a first aid have a look at the havp.config file. You will find multiple av scanners supported by havp like f-prot, avg and more.
And no: clamav is not a weak av scanner. I rarely found viruses detected by other av scanners and not by clamav. But no scanner will natively find all viruses. So in some case it's possible avast finds one but not clamav.

I'm maintenance technician and I'm thinking about to offer the HAVP to another companies like a internet solution, to block some kind of virus....

What do you think about???

Is it a good thing??

Clamav is the better to use????

Sorry about my bad english and my mistakes.... I'm from Brazil.... :D

Guess it is! I for myself use havp on a IPCop firewall with copfilter addon and clamav, avg and f-prot. With the current versions havp 0.91 and clamav 0.96.1 it's running like a charm. I have no experience with havp on other environments but I like it well and guess it will be a good decision.
If you like to share experiences with the copfilter version have a look at http://www.copfilter.org/forum/
