I'd like to request a CL multiscan feature, for scanning files on the local file system.

For example:

havp -c /etc/havp/havp.config file.exe
or
havp -c /etc/havp/havp.config -r /home/user/malware
(for recursion)

would return:

-/home/user/malware/file.exe
ClamAV: Trojan.Small.A
AVG: Trojan.Small.B
Kaspersky: Win32.Trojan.Small.C

While this is probably out of the scope of its design, I see HAVP as being really useful for more than just proxy level scanning.

Regards,
.

You are right, there would be no point for such complexity. :)

What you want is a very simple script that runs the scan binaries or calls daemons.

Granted this could be accomplished with a simple bash script, but you would probably be limited to scanning 1 file at a time. If it used a locally running instance of HAVP, many files could be scanned simultaneously (depending on MAXSERVERS setting), improving scanning throughput considerably.
