Hi
I am newbie on HAVP and I do not have correct knowledge about functionality of this tool.
According to document and configuration files, we have to mount /tmp partition with mand option.that means HAVP uses hard disk for temporary store.
Using hard disk as temporary storage is not good option.
Using ramfs or such file system on ram how amount can increase performance?which ram file system do you suggest?
Does anybody have benchmark about this feature?
Apparently /tmp on most linux distributions is tmpfs.that is filesystem on ram.
Thanks in advance

Hello,
I've no benchmark for used havp with ramfs, or without! I'm running my machines with ramfs and can say it's a little bit faster as with harddisk used.
Important thing to know is, that you have to enable a little bit more ram disk size at boot time, because per default the ramdisk size is 2MB, or 4MB dependendt to your used distribution.

The only thing, you have to do is, to add ramdisk_size=64000 in your grub settings like:
Code:
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.35.4 root=UUID=97992898-1862-4d8f-a980-0a1fbe03cde4 ro edd=off ramdisk_size=64000

This give you a ramdisk size about 64MB! Normally 16MB should be enough. My systems are using 8MB on maximum.

Regards
