Hi folks,

for some experience in perl i'll writting a little socketscript to invoke ondemand scanners.
at this time i work with this scanners:
avast
f-prot
avira
(bitdefender is planned)

to see what havp talks i wrote a little script. for tests i enabled the avast-option in the havp config.
havp connected succesfully and sended the string "SCAN /mnt/havp/havp-23Hsla".
ok, here we have the file that we want to have scanned.
it's no problem to call a scanner to scan that file. but i have a little problem to get the output, but this is another problem.
anyway, in my testscript i puted a line that sends some text after the scan-msg from havp.
havp returns, that the scanner didnt return the correct greeting.

so now to my questions:
1. should i simulate an avastd (and the other commercials) for havp?
in this case i need some informations about the greeting stuff and what data havp need

2. is it possible/planned to make an API?
you define what havp must have and anyone can make his scanner compatible to this open api

thanks for any suggestions,
wr4ppy :D

If you want best "compatibility", you should emulate ClamAV.

Other than that, it really doesn't matter, all have own protocols and they even change from time to time..
