In version .83 the following works. In version .85 it fails. The ChangeLog says there were changes to proxying in .84. I skipped .84. I have worked around this by switching 192.168.1.2 back to HAVP version .83, but this bug needs to be fixed.
PROBLEM: The URL cannot be found, so the web server returns a 502 error. The browser continually to tries to get the non-existing file - I think because HAVP never lets it see the 502 error. (I think the browser would just give up trying if it got the 502).
SCENARIO: The browser proxies Privoxy on port 8118 (192.168.1.1:8118). Privoxy forwards (to a different computer) to HAVP on port 8080 (192.168.1.2:8080). HAVP on 192.168.1.2 has this configuration:
SERVERNUMBER 16
LOG_OKS false
PARENTPROXY 192.168.1.1
PARENTPORT 3128
BIND_ADDRESS 192.168.1.2
TEMPLATEPATH /etc/havp/templates/en
WHITELIST /etc/havp/whitelist
BLACKLIST /etc/havp/blacklist
ENABLECLAMLIB true
ENABLECLAMD false
ENABLEFPROT false
ENABLEAVG false
ENABLEAVESERVER false
ENABLESOPHIE false
ENABLETROPHIE false
ENABLENOD32 false
The Apache access log on 192.168.1.1 is full of:
192.168.1.2 - 189 [13/Mar/2007:08:17:49 -0700] "GET
http://64.49.222.57/0.gif HTTP/1.0" 502 510
So HAVP runs only on the .2 computer, while Privoxy and Apache run on the .1 computer.
Further information or remote access is available if necessary.
